Welcome to That Kid In The Corner Version 1.5

Our little corner of the Internet just got an upgrade for Christmas!

It's not that we didn't like what the site used to look like. We did. (Thus, this new one looks pretty much like the old one.) But we also knew that old That Kid In The Corner was going to be a temporary sort of thing -- it was more important early on for us to be doing anything at all rather than sweating some sort of long-term development solution. More essential to put pen to paper than it was to actually take advantage of available technologies.

But, at a certain point, one realizes just how much better one's little web site could be if one only took the time to figure out and implement one of the many free content management packages available on the electric Internet. And figure out and implement one has! (At least a little bit. We're still a work in progress with the new technology. But hey, it's working!) So now we have That Kid In The Corner Version 2.0, complete with search functionality, indices that work, a nifty calendar, content archived by month AND topic, and even clever-looking little graphics! We're still pretty impressed we managed to make it work at all, though we're of course indebted to the good people at Movable Type for their very functional (and free) software. Cheers to you, Movable Type! (Though you'll notice we removed your dealer sticker from our web site. Sorry about that.)

In any case, now that there's a break in the schedule for site management, look for more frequent content updates in the coming weeks. The past few have been our busy time of year, yadda yadda, and we've also been burning a lot of time with the new software, but whatever -- we're back, and we're ready to sign.
