The Idea Is To Win The World Series

What should happen in the AL tomorrow

After today's Yankees result, all three division winners are set in the American League. All that's left to be determined is the Wild Card. The Red Sox get it with a win, but if the Indians win and the Red Sox lose, then the Red Sox will host a playoff against the Indians on Monday.

Let's assume that the Red Sox are more likely to win the world series than the Indians. I'm assuming this because of their experience and their recently proven ability to stare down the Yankees in the playoffs and not be intimidated. If that's the case, then it is to the advantage of both the Yankees and the White Sox to keep the Red Sox out of the playoffs.

Which means that the White Sox should tank tomorrow and the Yankees should play to win. Especially the Yankees. They could take out the Sox in one game and avoid the possibility of another showdown in the ALCS.

Integrity of the schedule, blah blah blah. You play to win the whole thing. I wonder if they will.
