Steelers Go For the KillShot
I Am Now Officially Rooting Against The Steelers
Bengals QB Palmer Leaves With Knee Injury
And that's all it takes. One shot at the quarterback's knee, and suddenly you have a much better chance to win the game. As noted in this space previously (Are Fifteen Yards Worth A Trip To The Super Bowl?), killing the other team's quarterback is a reliable strategy for winning NFL playoff games. The Ravens did it, the Panthers did it, and now it looks like the Steelers have done it.
I can't believe that the broadcast team is letting the Steelers off on this; Simms is copping the "blocked into the QB" line. I'm not buying. Von Oelhoffen lunged into Palmer's knee. It's tough to accuse someone of deliberately trying to injure someone else, but you can at least call out von Oelhoffen for being reckless and out of control around another man's knees. Bad, bad form.
Sorry, Steelers. People typically have nice things to say about your team, about it being classy and all that, but you just traded in some credibility. You're now The Bad Guys.
Hope it works out for you.

I can't believe that I didn't include the words "clumsy challenge" in this post. For shame!
As in, "Von Oelhoffen should have been booked for a clumsy challenge that injured Palmer."

I was disappointed that the Cinci D didn't come back after anybody. I don't see enough vengeance in any of the 4 major US sports. International Football has it served cold. But overall, I agree. That was horsesh*t.
