ThatKid Heartily Recommends "Higher"
ThatKidInTheCorner Creative and Production Director's Film Finally Makes It Online
Aight, time for some shameless pimping of stuff I like.
Allow me to present, courtesy of Game7 Productions and the deep pockets and nearly unlimited free bandwidth of the good people from the G-Unit, "Higher." The production notes call it "A few days in the life of a bored girl on capitol hill who finds new friends and new substances on her way to championing a big client meeting."
That's pretty fair, and pretty polite.
Mostly it's about the potential upside of opting out of sobriety ahead of important work-related events. Especially if you're also listening to hip-hop. It's a comedy, it'll make you laugh (especially the music video sequence in the middle), and I'll be terribly disappointed if you don't give it a whirl.
Also, we've got something of an in with the producers; I was a PA on this project (my first ever film credit!). And I promised them a review in exchange for some free product placement in their next production. If they need a quote for their marketing materials, here it is:
"Higher is an insightful and compassionate examination of the frustrations of organizational life, the challenges of defining one's identity, and the transformative power of music. If you only watch one online short-form video this year, make it 'Higher.'"
Enjoy.

Wow. That is an amazing piece of filmmaking on several levels. The best scene is clearly the hotel scene, you can see the production assistant work was outstanding for that day.
Thanks for the love. Now please poison the Seahawks, they killed both my real team AND one of my fantasy teams. I don't feel C@L has felt enough sports pain yet to get a championship yet. Although I'm a Yankees/Knicks/Terps fan too so I'm not exactly in the Philly/Buffalo/Cleveland rung of hell for sports pain.
